A treat for bird-lovers. This Eastern Bluebird is a part of my 'Birds of the Seasons" series which I exhibited at the Brodhead Creek Heritage Center in East Stroudsburg, PA. This scene set in late June was inspired by a beautiful moment I witnessed in my own yard. We have a large amount of wild blueberry bushes that surround our property, but somehow we always got only a handful or ripe blueberries to eat for ourselves. Then one day when enjoying lunch outside with my son we noticed bluebirds coming for our blueberries and enjoying a good treat. I wasn't mad at them for stealing our blueberries at all, instead I decided to capture this moment in painting.
Lightfast colors have amazing archival quality and will last for hundreds of years. Painted in traditional oil technique with multiple layers to create an iconic luminosity effect.
