A treat for bird-lovers. This Downy Woodpecker is a part of my 'Birds of the Seasons" series which I exhibited at the Brodhead Creek Heritage Center in East Stroudsburg, PA.
October is my favorite month of the year and I always try to observe and soak in all of the glowing light spreading through the vibrant warm-colored canopies of trees. When you look up at the birds on the tree branches, the glow on their feather like on this woodpecker's feathers acts almost like a halo and it's one of my favorite light effects to paint.
